The Adventure Center GRAND OPENING
Join us for the GRAND OPENING of Buckhannon’s first interactive children’s museum. There will be 2 time slots to join in on the fun; 10a-12p and 4p-6p. Admission is $8 per child with discounts available for proof of EBT or WIC. Admission is good for the entire 2 hour time slot. Play booths, STEM stations, art projects AND MORE. Finding Happy with Randa Cook
Join us for our first Adventure Center Pop-Up Event! Randa Cook, local author from Fairmont, will be reading her book Finding Happy and providing a themed craft. This event includes ONE HOUR of playtime at The Adventure Center after the craft is over! Admission is $10 per ticket. Free with a Collaborator Membership!
Ride for HOPE Dice Run
Join us for a Motorcycle Dice Run Ride for HOPE. Come out and enjoy the day riding with your friends for a GREAT cause. Stops include the historic Covered Bridge in Philippi, RG Harley in Bridgeport, The Family Table Restaurant in Jane Lew and the start and finish at The Moose Lodge in Buckhannon. There will be food trucks, raffles, and a Bike Show- a little something for everyone! Preregistration is NOW OPEN!
Youth Vendor Show
This is a CASH only vendor show for youth ages 8-18! Youth set up to sell their one of a kind items or show off their talents! Registration is $25!
Book Swap
Part of The Last Stitch Book Crawl, Appalachian Impact will be hosting a book swap at our new Adventure Center on February 21st! Located at 64 E Main St, we’ll have a Make Your Own Bookmark Station and books ranging from kids to adult! Come get your punch card stamped for the book crawl, make a bookmark, grab a book and check out our children’s museum in the process!

A Night in the Secret Garden
You are cordially invited to Appalachian Impact's fourth annual Gala, "A Night in the Secret Garden", benefiting the work of Appalachian Impact - an organization committed to building hope for at-risk students in North Central West Virginia through mentoring relationships and positive youth programming.
This will be a special evening of art, music, dancing, stories, and more. We will host several auctions throughout the evening.
Pumpkin Paint with Art Through Emotion
Sponsored by Appalachian Impact, join Art Through Emotion for a Pumpkin Paint! At $10 per ticket, children will receive 1 pumpkin, paint supples, snacks, drinks and the opportunity to tune in to a kid-friendly Halloween Movie during the event. Wildflower Wednesday
Appalachian Impact will be partnering with The Wild Sonflower in Jane Lew for another Wildflower Wednesday! This event requires advance ticket purchase so make sure to grab your tickets ahead of time as spots are limited! Join us for a craft, story, snack and time amongst the flowers. Craft will be geared towards toddlers/younger kids.
Back to School Celebration
Find us at Pretty Peonies Parlor on August 6th for a back to school celebration! We’ll have interactive, educational activities set up for kids and information about our after school program available.
Chalk the Walk!
Stop by Dairy Queen in Buckhannon on August 5th to help us Chalk the Walk! We provide the chalk, all you have to do is create the art! While you’re there, grab an ice cream and a sticker for your Summer Engagement Calendar. This is one of the last sticker events on our calendar, don’t miss out!
Hike with us on Upshur County Trails
Join Rachel Garton Weber on the Upshur County Trails behind the high school for a kid friendly hike! We will have Appalachian Impact water bottles for the first 15 kids!
Art by the pool
Join at the Upshur Country Recreation Pool for some art and swimming! Art is free, but you will need to pay the cost of admission to swim!
